University of Venice

The University of Venice (UniVe) will contribute its expertise in community engagement, led by Carlo Giupponi. Specifically, UniVe will share best practice for managing stakeholder relationships with wetlands. Evaluating the economic returns and socio-cultural values that exist at Knowledge and Action Sites will comprise a key part of the work. Additionally, Monica Billio will lead economic research that will focus on assessing the costs and benefits of wetland degradation versus restoration, using indicators such as biodiversity and ecosystem services.
