The University of Tartu (UT) will be responsible for the Estonian Action Site Parnu Catchment. Their specific tasks include advising on implementing and timing restoration as well as monitoring the site using indicators such as carbon, hydrology, soil and biodiversity. In addition, UT will be responsible for a scalable development plan that ties ecosystem services with green energy development in cooperation with local communities and other stakeholders. UT has participated in numerous successful ecosystem restoration projects such as LIFE Mires Estonia and LIFE to Alvars and will share this expertise with WaterLANDS.
