University of Warsaw (UW) will research the socio-cultural aspect of wetland restoration and the economic and social transitions that occur when wetlands are restored. UW will conduct a cost-benefit analysis for the Mazury Forest Knowledge Site where different restoration scenarios will be contemplated. Solutions maximising social net benefits will be identified. UW will work to understand local stakeholder attitudes towards wetlands and restoration actions with a particular focus on how costs and benefits of restoration affect attitudes of local communities versus attitudes of visitors.
