WaterLANDS: Water-based solutions for carbon storage, people and wilderness
WaterLANDS is a €23.6 million, 5-year EU-funded project that will restore wetland sites across Europe and lay the foundations for scalable protection across much wider areas.
Through eight Work Packages, the WaterLANDs project is working to restore wetlands sites across Europe which have been damaged by human activity and laying the foundations for upscaling protection across more areas.
Our project will help to restore six wetland sites across Europe. It will also gain from the experience of 15 Knowledge Sites.
The results of this project will be made available through deliverables, publications, reports and open access data which will be added to the website as they become available.
The WaterLANDS project is led by University College Dublin, Ireland and brings together 32 organisations from research, industry, government and non-profit sectors in 14 European countries.
