05 Dec 2023 - 08 Dec 2023
The Mediterranean COP23 is taking place from 5-8 December 2023 in Portoroz, Slovenia.
Plan Bleu is organising a side event entitled "Unpacking the potential of Ecosystem Restoration in the Mediterranean to address Climate Change and Biodiversity Loss" on Wednesday 6th December from 13:00 to 15:00.
This side event aims at promoting existing good practices in terms of governance in ecosystem restoration projects with different examples coming from projects targeting coastal and marine ecosystems.
This event will enhance the knowledge of ways ecosystem-based approaches in the context of different ecosystems, such as wetlands and marine ecosystems, can offer for ensuring carbon sink optimization and buffering resilience to climate extremes.
This exchange will enable policymakers and practitioners to integrate and utilise examples of governance and best practices for successful ecosystem restoration into their commitments to achieve sustainable development goals and support countries in reaching global and regional climate and biodiversity targets.
Arnaud Terisse (Plan Bleu) will present the WaterLANDS D3.1 at the side event entitled Characterising supportive governance and policy: Identifying policy and governance conditions that contribute to successful wetland restoration.
