Restoration requires effective collaboration across a wide range of disciplines and sectors, as well as fair and equitable representation of the varied stakeholders of natural areas. The WaterLANDS project, a Restoration Cluster project under the Horizon 2020 Green Deal call, does exactly this.

This talk, delivered by Dr. Shane Mc Guinness of University College Dublin, will outline the progress WaterLANDS has made in tangible restoration at six wetland sites across Europe, while laying the foundation for transformational change in how wetland restoration is designed, communicated, legislated for and funded. With stronger legislation emerging at EU-level, our four Green Deal projects have an important role to play in guiding this ambitious restoration.
