EU-funded projects WaterLANDS and Care-Peat are organising an invitation-only event in Brussels on the afternoon of 26th October 2022. The event, entitled “For Peat’s Sake” Strengthening Peatlands’ Targets in the Nature Restoration Law, will promote healthy peatlands under the Nature Restoration Law and will be divided into two parts:
Part I of the meeting will take place in Rue de l'industrie 10, 1000 Brussels from 14:00 to 16.15. It will consist of a technical seminar on peatlands under the Nature Restoration Law and an overview of how the Horizon 2020 project WaterLANDs and the Interreg project Care-Peat can contribute to delivering the ambitions of the Green Deal.
Who should attend Part I? Partners of the WaterLANDS and Care-Peat projects, technical experts, MEPs' assistants, policy officers.
Part II of the meeting will be dedicated to policy and advocating for stronger peatlands’ targets in the Nature Restoration Law. Part II will take place from 17.00 to 18.15, followed by networking drinks. It will take place in the European Parliament in Brussels and will be hosted by Member of the European Parliament, Jutta Paulus, and with Environment Commissioner Virginius Sinkevičius as a speaker to be confirmed.
Who should attend Part II? Decision-makers, civil society, heads of organisations, directors, private sectors heads of organisations. Decision-makers will have priority access to Part II of the meeting due to limited space available.
