WaterLANDS will be in attendance at Power to the Peatlands 2026, this 2-4 September in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands. Power to the Peatlands 2026 connects science, policy, and practice through lectures, interactive workshops, and field visits.

- 'From targets to implementation: Four levers to scale peatland and wetland restoration under the EU Nature Restoration Regulation' with Jan Peters from the Michael Succow Foundation
Afternoon Sessions 13:30-15:00
Peatland Finance in Practice: Building Investment Pathways for Restoration [Workshop] (Room: Galloway)
- Keynote presentation: Landscape Finance Lab (Matt Robinson, Senior Landscape Finance Advisor, and Rolf Hogan, Landscape Lead and Wetlands Programme Manager) will outline practical pathways for mobilising private and blended finance for nature restoration, drawing on applied experience across landscapes and insights from the European Peatland Finance Roadmap.
- Keynote presentation: IUCN UK Peatland Programme (Dr. Renée Kerkvliet-Hermans, Peatland Code Manager) will ground the discussion in the UK and European peatland finance landscape, highlighting policy alignment, standards, and emerging mechanisms that build investor confidence and delivery credibility.
- WaterLANDS contributions include Liisa Maanavilja from Geological Survey of Finland and Kate Flood from University College Dublin, in addition to contributions from Peatland Finance Ireland, Wilderway, and Rabobank.
