Deliverable 1.4 - DSS AWERE Decision Support Tool for Wetland Restoration

Restoration planning faces major challenges, including the inherent complexity of socio-ecological systems, the limited availability of financial resources, the slow recovery rate of some ecological processes, and the uncertain performance of interventions. Decision Support Tools are specifically designed to assist decision-making in such complex situations. They provide a normative and methodological framework that structures the integration of interdisciplinary information and the inclusion of diverse stakeholder opinions.

The web-based Decision Support System DSS-AWERE is specifically tailored to support the collaborative planning of Adaptive Wetland Restoration. It operationalises a seven-step Structured Decision-Making framework and provides users with targeted guidance, decision criteria, and access to a curated library of decision support tools and methods that support the planning and implementation process.
