Deliverable 4.2 - Assessment and Recommendations for Economic Incentives at Action Sites
The comprehensive preservation and sustainable management of wetland ecosystems are fundamental to maintaining ecological balance and fostering biodiversity.
This report focuses on evaluating and analysing the progress made by six specific Action Sites (AS) in Europe: Yorkshire iCASP, LIFE-IP Wild Atlantic Nature, Ems-Dollard Estuary, Pärnu, Dragoman Marsh, and Venice Lagoon.
The assessment identifies challenges, emphasising the need for structured investment strategies in wetland conservation. Securing adequate funding for wetland conservation demands clear investment plans detailing resource allocation, expected returns, and stakeholders’ interests. This report aims to provide targeted recommendations for each AS, taking into account their specificities and degree of project development.
