In November, WaterLANDS co-hosted a three-day Peatland Finance learning event in Dublin that explored policy alignment to facilitate investment in restoration.

In collaboration with the Landscape Finance Lab, Peatland Finance Ireland and the Flow Country Green Finance Initiative, the workshop brought together peers from the "Peatland Collective" landscape finance learning community for the second time this year.

Following a successful interactive workshop in Edinburgh in May, participants in Dublin shared learnings around the sustainable financing of peatland protection and restoration, with a focus on how these efforts can be embedded within the remits of government structures and support national policy objectives. Community access to policy and financial benefits was also explored.

The Green Deal Restoration Cluster attended at the learning event and opportunities to align on financing, stakeholder engagement and policy are continuing to emerge.
